Hello,
I'm Assumption Marie Dumalanta

I am a knowledgeable, skillful, and empathic Early Childhood Educator with international experience supporting children ages 9 months to 10 years in Canada, Thailand, and the Philippines. With a background in Elementary Education and ongoing studies at Humber Polytechnic, I have developed strong skills in play-based and Montessori-inspired learning, documentation, circle time facilitation, and building relationships with diverse children, families, and educators. My practice is guided by HDLH, ELECT, FDK, and CCEYA, allowing me to create safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. My future career goals focus on fostering belonging, curiosity, and holistic development in early years settings. I aim to continue growing as a reflective and responsive practitioner, collaborating closely with families and communities while advocating for inclusive and culturally responsive care. Ultimately, I aspire to become a fully certified Early Childhood Educator who supports children’s learning with intention, creativity, and compassion.

My Land Acknowledgement
I acknowledge the sacredness of the land I walk on, the water that I dive in and refreshes me, and the air that fills my lungs. These are more than elements; they are healing gifts that support my mind, body, and spirit. I am thankful to those who came before me, especially the Indigenous Peoples who have long protected and respected this land. I recognize my role as a steward and a caretaker, committed to preserving the natural world for the generations to come, especially children under my care. As an Early Childhood Educator, I will honour this relationship by fostering a love for nature in the hearts of the children I teach, guiding them to become responsible, respectful stewards of the earth.
